Summary: Faye Turner is a nineteen-year-old homeless prostitute addicted to cocaine.
Her life is simple, bouncing from one high to the next, bent over greasy truck seats for faceless men. But everything changes when Rhett Hale comes back into her life. Her devilishly handsome step-brother brings life-changing news and a special kind of hate reserved only for Faye. But all the hate in the world can’t hide Rhett’s lust for her.
He wants something wild. Something filthy.
And Faye is tempted to give him just that.
***Filthy is a dark erotic serial novel that will release monthly in segments of around 50 pages each. This book is not for those who like a traditional heroine. Faye and Rhett’s story is dark, complicated, and twisted with themes that are not acceptable to all readers. Read at your own risk.***
My thoughts: I’m not going to repeat the summary above, but what I’m going to say is that this part sets up the story pretty nicely. I found Faye intriguing and I’m anxious to find out more about her past and if she can put her current lifestyle aside. I did enjoy the fact that the prostitution part was not glamourised. Life on the streets is pretty nasty actually and the world doesn’t need another novel to justify people who think prostitutes actually like what they’re doing. So, kudos for that. I don’t particularly like Faye, but I did find her emotions spot on. I’m curious about Rhett and how their relationship will evolve. There are quite a few things to be resolved in the next installments. I’m especially interested to find more about Faye’s mother: what did she made her do and how come she never went looking for her as I don’t really think Faye was so hard to find. Good read overall.
My rating: 4 stars
